Message so i have gone through diagnostics and a couple of shops and still no a/c. as you can tell by my profile, i reside in FL, so a/c will become an important factor in staying hydrated and healthy this summer.

i completed a tt swap on this car a few months ago, and changed out the condensor, low side line, and receiver/drier with compatible tt components. i am also using a new 95tt efi harness. i had an ecu socketed by ztuner. the core i sent had problems, so he sent me another socketed ecu. i had problems with tunes/chips, so i swapped a few of those out as well.

before the swap, the a/c was working. but, ever since the swap it has failed to work correctly. first, i had an o ring leak at the compressor. so, i went in and changed those out. then, after running sensor diagnostics, i found the vent duct sensor was short. so i changed that out with a working one, and it is giving me normal readings now. after trying to swap out relays and auto amps, i still can not get the system running.

here is the new scoop. i can run 12v thru the relay and get the compressor to turn on. however, the compressor will not kick on automatically. i tried bypassing the low pressure switch to if it was bad, did not work.

so i took it in to z1 a few weeks ago. after several hours of trying different ecu and auto amp, checking different pin readings, the gremlin still has not been pin pointed. all we know is that relay is not getting 12v.

so, i took it to a a/c specialist shop down here (as recommended) near where i reside. they tell me to go to a different shop which specializes on imports. went there, and he is on vacation til the 27th. so, they tell me they will take a stab at it. they ran through some electrical checks and basically tell me the same thing: that there is a lack of ground/continuity to the relay, and that the main culprit is probably the eccs (ecu) or the auto amp (thankfully they did it for free, but i went ahead and bought a full oring kit for the z).

so here i am now, at a crossroads. i have a couple of auto amps, but not the right models. i have another ecu, but not an extra socketed one.

should i take it into the dealership and hope they can fix it, without totaling the car.
should i take it to the recommended import specialist when he gets back and hope he can figure it out.
should i try to source my own compatible components, swap them out, and hope i find the culprit.

thanks for any help or advice.

also, if you are in the panhandle area and are willing to swap out some ecu's and auto amps to help me chase down the gremlin, i would be more than thankful.
